The client had recently purchased this farmhouse building to discover that a section of the original timber roof carcass had collapsed. In addition the ground floor was subject to water ingress caused by flash flooding.
We investigated the problems and identified the causes and prepared a specification for repairs. The works were Tendered and we acted as Contract Administrator.
Upon completion of the works a large percentage of the repair costs were recovered from the company that carried out the pre-purchase survey for the client.
A UK based client who owned a large Chateau in the Dordogne instructed KMASS to advise in respect of damage following a major flood.
Dating back to the early 1700’s, this building was formerly Winston Churchills local party HQ.
KMASS carried out intensive investigations into the condition of the building and prepared the designs for a complete refurbishment & structural alterations to provide a more open plan layout including dropping the floor level in the basement to provide increased headroom.
KMASS were subsequently instructed by Allied Irish Bank to carry out structural design & further alterations to facilitate conversion of the building into their east London headquarters.
